Abstract

Terasi has a sharp odor and is commonly used to make chili paste, but it is also varied in
various Indonesian traditional recipes. The characteristics of shrimp paste are the aroma is
rather sharp and the taste is tasty.
The research objectives: 1) To analyze the picture of shrimp paste business in Sokobanah
Daya Village, Sokobanah District, Sampang Regency, 2) To analyze the strategy for
developing shrimp paste business that can be found in the research.
The method used to answer the first problem in this study used a qualitative descriptive
analysis, while to answer the second problem used a SWOT analysis. The results of this study
showed. the strengths are: 1) Products 2) raw materials 3) tablespoons, weaknesses are: 1)
Conflicting raw materials 2) Traditional processing 3) Simple equipment 4) There is no
processing group shrimp paste 4) Product conditions when drying shrimp 5) There are many
entrepreneurs terasi-entrepreneur, opportunities are: 1) Increased public demand 2) Low
business risk 3) Development of technology and information, and challenges, namely: 1)
Competitors 2) Uncertain weather 3) Stealing anchovy and rebon shrimp. Internal factor
analysis from weight and rank multiplication results (BxR) can produce the highest IFAS
weighted total value of 3. This shows that shrimp paste business in Sokobanah, Daya
Sokobanah Subdistrict, Sampang Regency, has a good strength in its operations in 20118 and
2019. While the analysis factor externally from the weight and rating product (BxR), a total of
3.75 for the EFAS matrix can be produced. This shows that the shrimp paste business in
Sokobanah Daya, Sokobanah Subdistrict, Sampang Regency depends on an excellent
position to further develop the business, but does not cover it up to be aware of the existing
challenges.
